I'm vexed - again - grrrr!! Kevin at HuntingLife.com (a very nice site) posted an article by Randall L. Eaton, Ph.D. Advisor to Conservation Force that vexed me! (I'm vexed with Mr. Eaton by the way, not Kevin!) The article was going along just fine until he said, "The polarities of human life consist of women bringing life into the world and men taking life to support life." I stumbled in my response because I was typing very fast, like I do when I'm vexed. But as I tried to say there, the article would have been better if it had left out the aspect of "gender differences". It's not even relevant to the argument of why hunting is a good thing. Perhaps he could have accomodated the recent and well documented changes in hunter gender demographics to acknowledge women's involvement in hunting beyond giving birth to hunters!!
We're Just Here to Give Birth To Hunters

I noticed that when I read the article and wondered how female hunters would react to it. Don't let it bother you. Let your shooting do the talking!
Dana,
You know I have a ton of respect for Women Hunters and as a publisher I am not going to speak for Mr. Eaton. I agree that it probably should of been left out of the article because it provides no real value to the argument.
I noticed that too, Dana. I'm guessing the best way to refute that statement is just to publicize all the women who are going out there and hunting. I see knew stories about female hunters every day, which I think is very cool.
Like the others, I noticed this, and I immediately thought of you. I'd have to agree with Kristine - you're doing an awesome thing by publicizing the role women play in the outdoors (as active contributors and participants)
I figured that the lady hunters would have this reaction to the article and I can totally understand.
I think maybe Mr. Eaton was referring to a time that has long since passed, but I am with Matt on this one. Let your shooting do the talking!
I like how much conversation those types of statements generate. Perhaps Mr. Eaton just doesn't realize how many female hunters there are. I think it's fun that you thought of me right away Bryan when you read that - must have known I would react!
